Tim McCray joined
the Mercer-Zimmerman family in 2003, bringing with him 20+ years of lighting
experience. He originally began his lighting career with Coopersmith Lighting
Agency, Inc. in 1985 after receiving a BSE in Theatre and Math from Central
Missouri State University. When Mercer Zimmerman merged with Coopersmith
Lighting, McCray continued to specialize in Theatrical Dimming and Control
layouts. He especially enjoys working with architects, engineers and theatrical
dealers on the design of architectural and theatrical dimming and control
systems.
During his spare time (or what spare time he has), McCray is very active
at Visitation Catholic Church, where he serves as a youth minister and as
artistic director for Theatre at Vis, a community-based theatre company
at the church. He also enjoys running, woodworking, golf, and cheering for
the Kansas City Chiefs.
McCray has been married to wife Sandie for 16 years; he has seven children
and nine grandchildren. (OK, its really six stepchildren and grandchildren
and his son, Adam, but he considers them all his children.)
